Some email clients have snooze functionality that lets you choose a time you want to deal with an email. Ours didn't.
So we built it.
Imagine you get an email with an invoice that's due on the 28th of November.
You don't want to pay it yet, cause that's a while away, but you also don't want to forget. And it's a hassle to transfer a note to your todo list...
The best would be to just receive the email on the 28th.
Wisdom
To quote a wise man:
"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference."
Obviously we couldn't build a snooze function into our email client, because we didn't control the code for that. And we weren't about to build our own email client. So we thought of a way we could play by the rules and achieve our goal:
By forwarding emails to an external email address that can reply when the time is right.
Perfect timing
But how would it know when to reply? From the email address we forward to!
If you forward an email to 28nov@snoozethat.com, you'll get a reply on the 28th.
And the beauty is: it replies in the thread you forwarded from, so all the context is right there - like that invoice...
Anytime, anywhere, with anyone
Here's the full menu of snoozing options available:
What's nice is that you don't need to remember the keyboard shortcut for snoozing. Just F
for forward, type 28nov@snoozethat.com and you're done.
And it works from EVERY email client. And EVERY email account.
If you want to make sure someone else gets the reminder as well, just CC them. They'll also get the reminder at the specified time.
And that's how we keep track of our todos in emails.
Try it out!
