Parsing Passports
360 Private Travel, one of our clients, creates luxury travel experiences for its customers. That involves a lot of data capture - not least: entering passport information.
The pain
We've all been there: You're half way through booking a flight you have to go find your passport and type in your details manually AGAIN!
Painful enough, but imagine that's part of your day-to-day job!
Alright, here we go again. Passport Number: P123...
The solution
We created a small cloud function that calls an ML model to parse the passport information from a photo and update the user record. A very nice and easy stand-alone feature. No more time wasted on that task and no more manual data entry errors.

The low hanging fruit
Often the most appreciated features are the unexpected ones. We thought of this one as a nice-to-have and almost de-prioritised it.
But now that it's there, it's the one that users show the most appreciation for. Because entering passport information is just no fun.
